Marcia Upson is a family nurse practitioner and knows the health benefits of losing weight. Most individuals think of weight loss as cosmetic, but she knows it has everything to do with health. For every pound weight loss results in 4 pounds less pressure on a joint. A 20 pound weight drop can be equivalent to one diabetes or high blood pressure medication. Our students report they have lowered of their cholesterol and blood pressure and improved their diabetes.

Many wellness programs are run by non-professionals who do not have a degree in healthcare. Marcia Upson has a master’s degree in science and is a nurse practitioner. She has taken her vast medical knowledge and made weight loss and health issues easy to understand. You must learn to lose weight in a fashion you can live with for the rest of your life. We do not change What you eat. We change When and How you eat. Individuals learn to eat When hungry and How to eat slowly and taste their food. We teach simple lifestyle changes anyone can live with for a lifetime. Individuals learn simple techniques for eating at parties and restaurants while still losing weight.

Naturally Slim’s Healthy Lifestyles has been in business since 1978 and helped thousands of individuals achieve their health and weight loss goals. We took numerous ideas to the classroom and kept the ones that worked. There is no busy work in our program, just proven methods that work.

No Absence from Liquor:

We realize that oftentimes business and social engagements involve alcohol. From working with clients since 1978 we have learned which alcoholic beverages individuals can drink and lose weight and which ones pack on the pounds. You too will become aware of which work for you and which ones do not.

No Medications:

As a nurse practitioner Marcia is asked often if there isn't a medication one can take to speed weight loss. Her first response is to ask "do you want to take this medication for the rest of your life?" It may help you shed a few pounds, but once you return to your old eating patterns, without the medication, the pounds will pile back on. Many over the counter medications can be dangerous if you have an underlying medical condition and prescription weight loss medications can only be taken for a specified time frame but not forever. Drugs are not the answer. Learning to eat all foods in moderation is the only long term solution.

Dine Out:

Most busy executives are on the road several days a week or at business luncheons and dinners. Eating out is mandatory! Naturally Slim's HLC is extremely easy to do under these conditions. It is not what you eat that we are changing so the whole menu is yours to choose from. You will learn how to eat any food in moderation and stop when comfortable.
